Older version of MH2

I have the Muzzy Lane version of this game. Will Muzzy Lane and Matrix continue to support that earlier version? Now and in the future?

Hi blastpop,

We only support purchases from our Online Store, but as far as I know Muzzy Lane continue to support all owners of Making History II with ongoing updates. The multiplayer feature addition is the newest one, but fixes and improvements continue. If you purchased your copy elsewhere, you should go to their site and grab the latest update.

Thanks- not knowing the agreement between Matrix and Muzzy Lane, I was assuming that the only version available was now through Matrix. The press release didn't mention about the games already sold or how previous customers would be impacted. Based on your response Erik, the ML version sounds like it still will be supported...

That's correct, blastpop. Muzzy Lane will continue to support and sell Making History II elsewhere as well. Our arrangement with them is non-exclusive, we'd just been keeping an eye on it for a while and felt it had improved enough to offer it to our customers.

Hi Blastpop,

Our attitude is that PC games have the advantage of being easily updated like any other software. So no matter where you purchase MHII, when a new update goes live you will get a dialog box the next time you fire up the game letting you know an update is available and asking if you want it. You don't have to go looking for it, just click Yes and it will automatically update your game. In that regard, there is no "older" version unless you have a boxed copy and no way to update over the internet. For example, we've had requests for updates from guys serving in Iraq or Afghanistan who can't download the updates, and I just burn a CD and throw it in the mail to them.

Just to clarify, there is an older version of Making History I (The Calm and the Storm) that was identified as version 2.0. That is not to be confused with MHII.

Hope this helps.
