Ships Sunk Screen

Post by KevinRohrer »

I don't know if this has been reported, but I have the 1.1 patch and not all ships that I sunk have shown up on the Ships Sunk screen in the Intelligence screen.

I am playing Coral Sea against a guy. I sank his Shokuku, Zuikaku, and Shoho, along with other ships. I saw the ships sink and heard the glub-glub as they went down, but the first two CVs don't register on the Ships Sunk screen. It's unknonn which other ships that I sunk didn't register. Some appear and some don't.

If FOW is on, then what you see on the ships sunk list is all of your ships that have been sunk and only those ships of your opponent that higher command has confirmed. This confirmation could take anywhere from no time (immediate) up to about 3 months in time. I usually have ships listed as sunk within a month of when they were sunk.

It's an integral part of the fog of war.

There was a similar post awhile back. The response from Matrix was that this was intentional. The ships sunk list is only updated when a sinking is "confirmed". Not sure what the parameters are for "confirmed" but the main reason I guess is to simulate the ambiguity of sightings that happen in the heat of the battle. Keep checking the list as it should be updated eventually.

I had also been wondering about this. Your clarification helps enormously. Here I thought it was a bug. :p
