Post by stuhead »

hi - just got the game installed it, click on the icon which brings up the game start menu, but when you click on play nothing happens, if i click on any other button - game manual, check for update etc, the program works fine.. but if i click on play there's a period of hard drive activity followed by nothing..
any help gratefully recieved as i'd love to play a game!!!

Hi Stuhead,

I'm sorry I missed this post - it's easy to miss the occasional post in the forum. We have our Help Desk for official support for that reason, as requests there are always seen by someone.

Could you post a DxDiag for us please?

Regards,

- Erik

dxdiag taken and attached to this message (i hope!)
i'm assuming the problems do lie somewhere within the directX realm - as after installing SST my close combat game stopped working and brought up a sound error lol

It's hard for me to suggest much here as I can't tell whether it's an issue with the installer or the game. During beta testing I recommended everyone to download the DX9 web installer as it will install missing files for all minor versions of DirectX 9. From testing the Matrix installer, the web setup seems to have been integrated, so I would assume that this is now unnecessary. It won't do any harm to try it just the same though.

Can I also ask. If you navigate to the folder you installed the game to and run the program manually, does it make any difference?
