Searching the manual

Post by JudgeDredd »

I tried to search the manual for finding out about railway repairs. I tried railway repairs, railway, repairs and rail...and the only hit I got was on repair and that was on page 378 and to do with the EULA and the disk...nothing returned a search.

So I looked through the contents and found many, many mentions of RAIL and REPAIR under the Strategic Movement section...is the ebook manual not searchable? The LIGHT manual is by the way - so is it just a difference between the types? I thought the only difference should be layout for "printer friendliness"...

**This game is awesome and thank you** [&o]

Try "FBD" I use the standard adobe pdf search functions and find everything I need just fine.

Rail repair in search gives first hit on page 26,35 etc.

I know about the index Joel - but alot of people rave about digital manuals and the searching ability - I was surprised not to see it working

What's FBD?

Its the German rail repair unit, so any reference to it should be related to rail repair functions.

Hi JudgeDredd,

I am very new to this game so I am no means an expert but I think I know what you are looking for in the manual. I am using the WITE-Manual-[EBOOK] version, so check out pages 196-197 (In Section 14.2.2.1). The search term I used was "rail repair" and it came up quite frequently in the manual. Hope this helps.

As for FBD, that is the German acronym for "Feldeisenbahndirektionen". On the attack on the Soviet Union, three Feldeisenbahndirektionen (FBD) (Military Railway Administrations) were established during the spring of 1941. These three FBD's would serve as the main supply life-lines of the German invasion forces. The newly created entities were FBD 1, FBD, 2 and FBD 3. Each contained a full compliment of administrative personnel, repair facilities and construction works.
