Loving DC, should I get Advanced Tactics: Gold?

The team behind the award-winning game Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive early days of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris is the first in an innovative series of operational World War II wargames that also include a strategic element. The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris simulates Germany’s military successes in Poland and France in 1939 and 1940 (including also a hypothetical “Sea Lion” invasion of Great Britain).

Loving DC, should I get Advanced Tactics: Gold?

As the title says, thoroughly enjoying WtP right now. Have quite a bit of replay value left with the game, but wondering how close AT or AT:Gold is/will be to Decisive Campaigns. Anyone have both?

ATG uses a different engine, it is basically a improved AT engine. As a tester for it I can say that its biggest advantage over WtP is its flexibility and once the scenario designers start making scenarios for ATG it will be amazing what they will be able to accomplish.
It will be like buying an unlimited number of games for the price of one. ATG is literally a "build your own strategy game" in a box. There has never been anything like it that I have seen.
The AI in ATG is not as advanced as in DC:WtP ( The DC AI is cutting edge) but against another human player I believe people will find it an extremely well designed and challenging game to play with unlimited possibilities.

Sounds intriguing but I'm a single player kind of guy and the tough AI is what drew me to WtP in the first place. Now if DC was getting a scenario editor...

Don't assume that AT AI is bad, it's not. It's not as good as DC AI but it is a good opponent. Of course the nature of AT means that some designers create scenarios that AI can not cope with, but still there is a lot to choose from for someone who prefers SP.
