Isn't it annoying when you fail to break a pockey by 1 hex.

One mistake I think your opponent made was not taking Ventspils with TotKopf on T1. I think this allows your cut-off units in Lithuania to naval move out through there to L-grad or Talinn (if in good order), or else to rout out through there. They shouldn't surrender in any event.

Your opponents opening has given you an extra turn or 2 for your Leningrad defence to set up. You should have infantry divisions set on refit in the hexes in or around leningrad starting to dig. With the new 1.04 rules where forts take a bit longer to build you cant lose any time setting up your defence.

Could you do me a favor and put 1.04 up in the title line so I know this is one of the new game starts. Also every few turns if you would post the OOb screen and also the production screen showing your manpower and armament pools. Not every turn, every 3rd turn or so would be nice.

Thanks

Here's the turn 3 front lines before any Soviet stuff is moved. Gerald has got a really good pocket going there by the Marshes and
around the Kiev area there is a gigantic pocket being formed. I'd better move those people ASAP, although it's probably too late now.

If that nothern "blue" infantry can move into one controled hex he can re-open the whole Minsk pocket, I believe. Having a resupplied pocket that you are running to escape from will cost him a turn at least.

The Soviet unit to the immediate right of Kiev used to be sitting in Kiev. I moved him out of there to avoid the fighting that may tend to destroy the Heavy Industry that's there in Kiev. Once I capture Kiev back from the Axis dudes hopefully it won't have very much damage so I can start producing Heavy Industry stuff again real soon. Maybe. I could be wrong. Anybody know if fighting damages industry in a city?

Bad news. Section 21.2 of the manual says that other than manpower, port, rail, resource, and oil, all other factories in captured hexes are destroyed and permanently removed. Manpower in captured cities decreases over time (21.1.10.3).

D'oh. I've read the manual about 4 times now and one of these days I gotta read it again to learn things like this. Thanks for your post my friend.
