Question about Unit Stats

Post by homunculus88 »

First, congratulations to the developers for an excellent game. You can pat yourselves on the back for a job well done. This game really captures the feeling I had when playing PG years ago.

I have a question about the unit statistics, not sure if it is a mistake or intentional. The Jagdtiger has a hard attack of 21 with a 12,8 cm L/55, while the Jagdpanther has a hard attack of 24 with a 8,8 cm L/71 and the Maus has a hard attack of 26 presumably with a 12,8 cm L/55 ?!?

In my opinion, the Jagdtiger should have a higher hard attack value than vehicles armed with a 8,8 cm L/71. The 12,8 cm L/55 performed on par or slightly less effective on combat ranges below 1000m, when compared to the 8,8 cm L/71, but on combat ranges above 1000m the 12,8 cm L/55 was far superior. So, the hard attack value should be raised to 26, like the Maus, because they had the same main weapon.

The Jagdtiger was the most powerful armored vehicle that saw combat in the war, and the stats should reflect this.

Just my thoughts.

As I said, great game. But why no Ar-234 jet bomber? *sob* [;)]

Possibly the game designer considered a number of other factors before determining the attack factors. Such as ammunition types and dates of availability. Just as a note, not all JagdTigers (and there were less than 80 built) carried the same main weapon. Initially some had the PaK 44 L/55 before the PaK 80 L/55 was used. And because of the shortage of L/55s a few were even fitted with the JagdPanther's PaK 43/3 L/71. Maybe the designer will address this, but I would certainly allow some leeway in the numbers actually used.

Maybe some new units (like the Ar-234 mentioned) could be added in a future DLC etc.
