Clash of steel

Post by sztartur2 »

Edit on 2011.08.17 scenario batch.

Gentlemen,

I created a June 42 scenario for my steppe map. It is an armor meeting engagement between elements of a Pz battalion + support units Vs element of a Soviet Tank Brigade + tank desant inf.

This scenario is NOT play-tested.

Briefing states "sometime in June 44"

Against the AI it looks like the AI doesn't know what to do with neutral flags. It took 15 turns for me to move half way across the map and now I am seeing the Soviet tanks near their corner. Unless of course the AI is flanking me and I am about to get a rude surprise.

I noticed that too with the Panzers in the Puszta scenario. If I get enough feedback about the force balance I plan to make a German, Russian and H2H version with some modifications regarding units, their allocation and objective allocation/ownership.

But for all that I need as much of you to test as possible.

Like a boxing match, now that the opponent has come out of his corner, he is not as timid as I perceived. Turn 22 and I am hoping to be able to flank him with half my force as the other half is quickly falling.

Ended when I took the 3rd flag with a Marginal Victory. Map was littered with wrecks and bodies. Had it not ended, I probably would have lost by attrition.Very tense once the shooting started.

I think that if I had played as Soviets vs AI I would have rolled over the Germans. As Germans vs the AI, if the flags were worth less points, the game would have continued and I don't think I would have won.

You need more feedback before you change anything.

Played it with the Germans myself. For sure I would not want it to be any harder [:D]. I managed a decisive victory but it was the same way as Junk made it with the capture of 3 flags. On soviet Side 4 KVs and cca 3 T34s remained. I lost half om my tanks but the bigger problem was that the other hal ran out of ammo especially the two remaining PZIV F2s. These 4 PzIVs scored cca 70% of the kills.

I will leave this scenario as is to have a real hard one but I will make a German normal a Russian and a H2H.

Added a new scenario batch.
German version Normal (G)
German version Hard (G Hard) - this is identical to the original one.
H2H version (H2H)
Russian version (R)

any feedback is welcome.
