I guess history just repeats itself!

First of all. WHAT A GREAT GAME!!! Ive never played any of the previous in the series but this game blew me away. I was so pleasently surprised by the complexity of the game. So many small variables you must learn and tactics you must understand! Great!!!

Anyway my campaign has been going great! Once you save those real experienced units it seems you can just roll through Russia... Or.. Thats what i thought... I just completed the moscow mission and thought i was going to squeeze out of this one with no units lost. Boy was i wrong. As my tanks saw the golden moscow buildings things became hairy. I had a force designated to drive to moscow from the south while units from the west and southwest took the objectives heading to moscow (these units really slodged along slowly taking these objectives). My units coming from the South were the best and brightest. Many had 2 or more heroes, iron crosses, and lots of kills. I have a bf110 with 2 heroes and over 200 kills, and a stuka (my fav unit of my campaign) with two heoroes (intiative +1 attack +2) and lots of kills. I also have a Bf109 with the Iron Cross and over 200 kills and two heroes. My air force is awesome, but they became useless as the battle for moscow began (snowfall snowfall and more snowfall)!! Although i got my panzer units across the river without a problem (have a nice expereicne brucken (sp) pioneer unit) to come in from behind moscow i started dying. My infantry started the fights for the cities while my panzers cleaned up the outskirts. First thing that went wrong, my 2, yes 2 tank destroyers were killed! (Well experienced). My other tanks units took HEAVY damage, my infantry gained good ground in the cities, but a SE (special) unit was destroyed! A panzer PVFD tank that was with me from the low countries was destroyed... My beloved stuka held on just barely and had to fall back to an airfield and was useless for the little moments of clear sky i had. Well after massive casualties, moscow was within my grasp... Then i see a counterattack to the south, two far for me to get to in time and no chance for rescue from an air mission. The OTHER special tank recieved for the Russia campaign was destroyed... On the last turn.. Right when i took Moscow... [:@]

[&o] To the wonderful AI! I have seen then running around trying to find weakspots in my lines, and they did. Cost me the campaign, lots of veteran units, and a headache... So now i JUST realized you can proceed with the missions even when you lose them. So i proceeded. With the sad remants of my units from moscow i will try to take Stalingrad. But my aura of invincibility has vanished! :(
