Save Game Crash

Post by robrown1 »

Hi all, new here. I have been playing ROTS for about a month or so. I keep encountering a save game crash late in games. Looked around in forum but didnt see this one posted. May have missed it. I have updated all my drivers as recomended in other posts. Crash still occurs. Also sometimes I get it to save, but it takes forever and then when I come back to load the save I get "invalid save game" message.

Hi robrown and welcome to the forum, can you upload that particular saved game so we can check it as well? From the errors you receive it seems you run out of memory on your machine. What are your specs?

I'm afraid with this setup you've reached a process memory limit or something similar. I hope it's easy to reproduce as there are quite a few of us that are also on a similar 32bit setup..me included [:)]

What is strange is that I have gone back to the previous game save and continued on. Several automatic game saves later (1 hour apart) the game is still going fine. It seems that there are times when the saves just eat up too much memory and crash the game. Other times they dont.

Yap, that may also depend on what else is running or not running at those times [;)]
