Anyone fancies this see link below. Also if you search the net you will find groups who use it to fly campaigns. Boardgame not needed.

9th Mission of B17 G Goodbye Mickey Mouse...Ended in disaster...a deep raid into Germany in poor weather was a nightmare. Hounded by FW190\Me109's nearly all the way..First death was my Nose Gunner and bombadier Paul Webb shot dead..attack after attack came in..airelons and cables and rudder and oxygen and two engines where taken out one of which was on fire...at this point Co Pilot Joe Keller had been severely wounded and then it all went to hell...attacked by between four and six FW190's for six turns in a row became the death bell for Goodbye to MickeyMouse...Having had to pull out of formation and drop down in altitude due to the heaters being blown out and to save the crew from frostbite we were a sitting duck..tail wheel shot off..flaps ruined..controls gone to pot..bomb bay doors stuck by this point my starboard gunner had also been killed as bullets smacked through the bomber...valiantly struggling to keep her going Pilot Jason Rimmer did his utmost..but his strength failing after being wounded he just couldn't keep her airborne..but now they where over the Channel trying to get back to blighty..bail out bail out..damn the rubber raft and been shot to pieces aswell..oh the horror Dom Cost was trapped in the plane being the Radio Operator he was desperately giving out the co ordinates of where the bomber was going down but then realized he was trapped..three times he tried to free himself and eventually he did it yes he managed it..all but the two dead crew managed to bail out, ..but oh the tragedy..all but two of those who managed to bail out died from exposure or drowned including the valiant pilot and poor old Dom Costa...the two surviving crew where picked up by boat, thankfully one of ours..one of them the severely wounded Co Pilot Joe Kelleher. During the combat Goodbye MickeyNouse took out four planes..for a total of 10 kills for 9 missions. She now lies beneath the Channel the tome for two valiant Crew Paul Webb who already had two kills to his name and managed another before he was killed and Martin Lynn Starboard Gunner..Jimmy James,Tom Tomlinson, Poor old Dom Costa,Lee Waller, Jason Rimmer,Dave Rimmer all perished in the Channel..Joe Kelleher and Moggy Mugs the only survivors.

That was an intense game..the poor old bomber must have been hit 30 times or more with pretty much every compartment taking rounds and damage..

Though the previous Mission was with and Avro..first mission..fought of three waves of fighters and took two down..only for the Bombs to be hit...the whole plane disintegrated with all crew..horrific end for a first mission. JG26 where the killers..you don't want to meet them.

Thanks wodin. I downloaded it and am going to check it out later.

How complete is this version?

Just downloaded - am looking forward to trying it out -thanks Wodin.

I used to have a copy of the boardgame. It was a great coffee table game. More importantly it could be played solo - a great boon in the days before computer games !

As you can see from the web site link -despite the fact that the game was pretty simple it was quite popular. I was unaware that the game produced so many player inspired variants (the original game only covered B17e variants). I was aware however that a number of US wargame conventions had regular "demolition derby's" of players.

Remember to play it properly create a new plane and crew and use that..the famous ones don't get destroyed or carry over mission Stats etc etc..

I don’t know about this “PC emulator” but the board game is a classic, I still have my copy I was given as a kid by one of the co-designers Charles Proseks………I don’t recall ever getting to 25 missions but iirc I got to the 20th mission once before she went down with her crew . but honestly by then I don’t think there was much of the original crew left………… [:(]

I’ll bet I have “windycitys” mission logs still in the box ..............[:D]

Remember to add a new plane and new crew for it..to fire you turn the dark blue of the weapon to light cyan then click the plane you want it to hit again turning the blue square to light cyan ..repeat this for any other weapons and click a corresponding target..click the tick box if you want to spray fire..then click fire guns. If you come across JG26 Abbeville Kids then pray..
