extended range

Post by geofflambert »

I think I saw the answer to this in a thread long ago, but I don't remember it. Some of my allied bombers and patrol aircraft's extended range has been reduced by one hex in mid '42. What's up with that?

Are you maybe talking about different planes?

For instance the PBY-5 and PBY-5A have different range but the 5A has some radar to make up for it.

Generally I don't think aircraft stats change over time, except when the model changes of course.
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?

Maybe it's my aging brain but I thought B-24Ds started out with an extended range of 22. Now they're at 21. I thought B-17Es had a range of 18, now it's 17 (I don't think I'm confusing them with B-17Fs which I now have two squadrons of, but I'll check again when I'm in the game. I thought the PBY-5s (not 5As) went down a notch too. But I am starting to have problems with memory.

Just checked, I'm wrong on the B-17s, I'm confusing them. I'm probably wrong on the B-24s too. Please disregard.
