P38 bombs

P38 H and J are assigned by AI to bombing missions. Playing allies, you can assign them yourself, but their bombs will never cause damage to any target. Guaranteed.

I believe you need to pull up the squadron and manually change them to carry bombs instead of drop tanks.

Maybe if you're playing allied, don't remember. The allied AI certainly won't do that itself, it just plots pointless raids with, in 1943 at least, the only long range escorts the allies have.
