Would this game be comparable to WITP as far as complexity?

This game has nothing on WITP for complexity.

lol. few things in this life do. I've quit playing WiTP more times since the original's release in 2003 than I've played all other games combined. Great game, but has always been hard for me to stay the course beyond 1942 or so.

Seems many here are really getting into this game(emersion) I'm glad to hear its not to the WITP level. Though I see many have invested a lot of time playing DW

Why would you be glad it's not up to WITP complexity level? Is that a good thing or a bad.. or put another way are you looking for a less or similarly complex game? Either way I can only recommend DW as one of the best games I played in my life, and I'm quite picky.

Btw it's *immersion. Emersion is the act of coming out of water after being submerged etc.

It really depends on what complexity you are looking for.

Are you looking for nuanced differences where one decision can affect things down the road? In that case, yes, it does have a similar complexity.

Are you looking for the logistical nightmare that is the IJN economy with PDU on? Um..no, nothing that bad. [;)]

WitP:AE is more complex than Distant Worlds and based on history back in WWII in the pacific. DW on the other hands is just fantasy game, its 4x space simulation strategy game. So you cant compare between them two. I like both of them and both have their pros and cons during the gameplay.

WitP is without doubt more complex. Importantly, it is also much better as a two-player game than it is as a single player one.

If you want an enjoyable single player game then DW is by far the best option.
