Waypoint Capable ASCMs?

Is there discussion about adding the ability to program in waypoints for ASCMs that have the capability? Is it currently possible in the game?

Yes we're thinking about a strike editor at some point but no promises yet.

You can technically steer missles but we don't really suggest it.

I was also wondering about fixing CAP or helo search sectors based upon HVU/CVN location, regardless off of

i.e., CAP/DCA stations based upon vector logic/bearing-range from CVN? of SH-60F or SH-60B/MH-60R searching 000T-090T 20,000-60,000 yards in front of formation/HVU?

You can do that now if I understand your question correctly.

You can already set reference points relative to the position of a ship or a unit in the group so that it moves along with it Take a look at the set reference point relative to sections in the manual. You can set it to a fixed bearing or rotating bearing.

Last time I did that the ref point did not follow the unit. Will observe in my next session.
