GD1938 Game 20
Staff Appreciation
The Red Army was as shocked as any military force would be with the German blitz. We quickly realized we must take
the eastern part of Poland, and stake our claims in the Baltic. In order to isolate Lvov we slipped across the
Hungarian border. The diplomats were supposed to offer peace to the Germans, but neglected to do so. Perhaps they
will offer peace to us. We have no desire to go to war with Germany.
The Baltic provinces will resist and Poland should be a tough nut to crack too. Who would ever have thought the
Germans would attack in mid-winter 1938?

Ok the wrong turn is in the drop box I did my turn days ago yet it is back as new.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

I'm back up and running! Lost most of my games due to computer problems. Got ATG going again and played my USA turn.

The Peoples' Army has thrown the imperialist invaders back in a human wave attack northwest of the occupied city of Shanghai. Beware. the year of the Dragon has begun! [:'(]

I am disappointed that the ability to give troops to an ally is OFF. It makes no sense. In fact allies gave troops on both sides. The US gave ships to Britain and the troops of all allies worked in joint units through out the war. The Spanish gave troops to Germany even though they were not even allied. And the Germans gave troops to the Italians in Greece.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

RE: GD1938 Game 20
As long as all the rules apply you have a uninterrupted route to the target HQ you have trains supply trucks etc. I can send supply from OKW German to the Italian HQ's if they are allied.
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?
RE: GD1938 Game 20
The People's Army of China has had a mixed bag this turn...in the northern sector, we lost many soldiers against a tough enemy, while on the southern front, we were able to tighten the noose around the occupied city of Shanghai.

Thanks. So if one ally can supply/ or supplement the other for a couple turns, that ally can produce tanks, artillery, etc. instead of supply. Good to know!

With the new city and production increase rules you can improve yourself to do all that.

China and Japan have signed a peace treaty! Chinese troops have begun pulling back from the front lines. An extra ounce of rice for every brave soldier!

Italy is just content to pull up a deck chair, sit back, relax and watch the mayhem unfold at the moment....[;)]

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics announces a state of war with the nation of Sweden. This war is about the defensive security needs of the USSR, and nothing else. The Swedes will be allowed to choose their form of government.
RE: GD1938 Game 20
Norway too, as it can provide us with Atlantic ports.
RE: GD1938 Game 20
The Soviet Union is attempting to prevent a general war. A tough task in a hard world.
RE: GD1938 Game 20
The Germans and various other countries are at war, but the situation is confused.
The Soviet Union has defended its territory and tried to do some limited counterattacks to allow the Germans to back off their aggressive stance. The USSR is deciding if the conflict is limited or if the call to arms should be sounded. The Red Army is capable of defending the Motherland, and vast numbers of citizens are clamoring to join the troops in uniform. This conflict can still be limited, but either way we will be ready.

There seems nothing for it but to fight this war by ourselves. Our potential allies have various reasons why they
cannot engage Germany just now.

Perhaps next time we can start a game with allowing allies to share supply and troops.
Favoritism is alive and well here.
