Wounded Bear

Shokaku, badly damaged at Coral Sea (systems damage), left Truk 12 May and arrived at Kure Naval Yard May 17th. I may be missing something, but I dont remember seeing any ship capable of arriving at Japan from Truk in 5 days. BTW, she dodged 7 or 8 submarines to get there. She had one destroyer escort.

If you send shokaku back undamaged, ETA Japan says 11 days.

She might have been sent from Japan with slower ships in her task force. Returning alone would allow her to go maximum cruising speed. I dont know if that would justify 5 days which seems awfully fast.

HI
how are you judgeing it took 5 days to get to JAPAN ?

when I send a ship back to PH, it is there as soon as I click on the button, only I get a timeline as to when it will be repaired/back in base able to be used ?

The scenario I gave was what happened historically, may 12 to may 17 (5 days). I just noticed that in the game if I send Shokaku undamaged back to Japan, then look on the ship availability schedule it says under the column "ETA JAPAN" 11 days. This is twice as long as it took historically for the damaged SHokaku to get to Kobe naval yard.

HI
well from what I understand, that is not the date it takes to get there, there is refit and other things going on also, that is the date it will return and be able to be sent back out

maybe the skipper gave his boys a few days of R&R, or stopped off to buy his wife a gift before getting to port
