Would it be possible to crate update for game launcher to contain testing program that would show (in launcher window what of many things that cause troubles is causing the game to not start.

I tried to follow troubleshooting list in steam community page, but game still does not start on Win10 upgrade (on Win7 that I used prior to Win10 it worked without a problem).

type msinfo32 in your Run command and post a picture here..

You guys with your windows 10 problems.. I have a feeling that you have specialized Windows 10 versions that the manufacturer has put on machines to save money by not including certain things.. like either media player or etc.. Yes it's about money again..

-It's like 20% of the windows 10 users can't play this game!?!

But then why can the other 80%????? with no problems!

If you installed all the "extras" like XNA , Direct X and DotnetFx3.5 and DotnetFX 4.0 ..(Basically everything in the "Redist" Folder!!) then there is nothing else except what you have changed on your computer or you have a specific version of windows missing a media component, or yes, your hardware is not sufficient.. but that is rare.. as people play this game on XP and with 1 gig of Ram etc..


NOW, you will notice my picture shows windows 8.1! but, I am about to install Windows 10! and you know what?! Distant Worlds is going to work. and in the event it doesn't you darn well know for sure I will get it to work because I know it works on every other version of Windows and I know it's just something i haven't installed or setting or my hardware.. but it runs currently on my hardware and on many other computers I've played it on.. so I know already it's not my hardware..

After I install windows 10, I will post a picture of me in the GameScreen showing it works.
