Spotting/ visibility

Post by andyph »

I am interested in buying the game - SL player from way back.

But watching a couple of You Tube vids it appears as if an enemy unit is spotted automatically if there is LOS to it's hex?

I'm guessing this is a n easy setting and that enemy units can remain hidden until they fire?

Thanks

No, as far as I am aware, if a unit is within LOS it is visible, whether it has fired or not.

There is no concealment for units in LOS if that is what you are asking. If a unit is in LOS it is visible.

Does this mean a unit in a stone building will be seen (and possibly fired on) even if it hasn't fired or moved?

If so, does this mean the only way to not be seen is to be behind a building, not in it?

Yes, any unit that has a line of sight tot he hex will see all units in that hex. To avoid being seen you need to be behind any LOS blocking terrain.

Thanks for the quick reply - I guess I'll have to rethink tactics and make my guys sit outside in the cold rather stay nice and warm inside telling rude jokes.
