Transporting Units

Post by CGGrognard »

I've looked through the forums and was wondering if anyone might be able to answer this. I was recently in a battle, where the
gunner of a SD.KfZ was killed. I loaded up a two person mg team inside of the vehicle and used them as a mobile mg platform.
That was until the vehicle was destroyed and killing all passengers by a round from a Sherman tank. Here's the question. Are these
results typical?
I've had transports (opels) destroyed but most of the passengers would survive.

The chance for crew and passengers to be hit when a vehicle is damaged is influenced by how badly the vehicle was hit. So often a soft skinned vehicle like a truck will get taken out by small arms fire and most of the crew and passengers will escape unharmed, whereas an armored target that gets hit by a heavier shell and brews up will take heavier losses. That said, there is a random chance involved so you can see a wide range of results.
