Interesting, but I had to grit my teeth at the narrator's lack of experience with the game, which meant he could not give a good interpretation of what was going on as the combats progressed. Anyone not familiar with the game will have been given a muddled impression that might drive them away.

I watched some of the first as well and did not find it amazing.
In particular the dissing of the GC is not something I'd think Matrix would want stickied.

Ok, only watched the first one and believe me that was an effort. I don't see the benefit of watching someone who admittedly says he doesn't have a clue prove to me he doesn't have a clue. The tutorials that are already stickied here are much more useful. Just because someone has the ability to make a video does not mean it belongs here.
There are much more useful ways to spend your time in this forum. I recommend you do so.

Fair Analysis and one that i can agree with if i was in your position as a Veteran of the series.
However i am not a Veteran and i will continue to produce content on this game as i enjoy it, and i feel others who have never played could enjoy GG War In The Pacific : AE ( There are people who have never heard of this game and are now very interested so i'd like to say i'm proud of that ).
Have a good day and to the other Veterans of the Forum too

RE: Gameplay videos by XTRG!
I for one can't even get the videos to play! Is there some special program to play these type of YouTube videos?

Why is there graphic glitch while in sea-land combat? Have anyone noticed it?

Welcome XTRG, enjoy your stay and as you play you'll get better.

That's fair enough, but I would recommend that you state that at the beginning. Also I would recommend some familiarity with how the game is played so that the experience of watching the video can be both entertaining and a learning experience.
Sorry I was so harsh but things that are posted here are usually for info, a learning experience, or entertainment and yours was neither.
Edit:BTW the veterans here are extremely helpful and will take the time to answer questions. Just realize that anyone who does so should show an effort to learn as well and not just rely on the members here to teach them the game. I read a lot before I even started posting here, and I am responsible for more than my share of mistakes. There are but a few who are true game guru's. So read the manual, check out the tutorial videos that are stickied here, and search the forum. Good luck and understand that this 'time vampire' of a game requires quite an investment on the part of the player.

Back in the mid or late 90's I was playing this game but it must have been a much earlier version. The mods look great. What I remember of it, it was a blast to play. I am looking forward to seeing more of you learning this game and getting it out in the public. Thanks![8D]

Yes, I´ve had the problem before. Heres the solution:ORIGINAL: RisingSun

I applaud him for taking this on. It´s a learning process and a hard game. I think that is well reflected in the videos...

I´m sure the great campaign will get better as he learn more. I´m just worried that the AI will crash on him since he decided to play as the Japaanese.
I´m thrilled that someone FINALLY will play this on camera so that people can open their eyes and see this gem. THANK YOU XRRG.

Oh, and he said he´s having trouble with the tracker. For the greater good maybe someone can pitch in on this?ORIGINAL: XTRG
i've tried to get the tracker to work but it comes up with this error " Can't load IA 32-bitt.dll on a AMD 64-bit Platform " the funny thing is i have an Intel systel sooo haha

Always good to get the word out on this game. Don't be afraid to ask questions on the forum as you do seem to be rather new!

Kudos to you XRTG for taking on the project. Yes, the video shows a lack of familiarity with the game and interface, but that will come in time. Bit harsh Rustysi. The guy is still learning and his videos show promise for the future.
RE: Gameplay videos by XTRG!
I agree with Don. Being a 'Forum Veteran' is not being a game veteran. Some of the original developers, like Don Bowen and JWE, and those who work with them, find your efforts praiseworthy. Keep it up.
As Don says, all things come with time. So, if you can, ignore the forum agenda and march to your own drum.

Bit harsh Rustysi.
I disagree, it was totally harsh, and again I will say sorry (see post 9). I should have been more diplomatic in my response, and more constructive with my criticism. Unfortunately I've come to expect a lot out of this forum's quality of content, and inappropriately lashed out when I was disappointed. All apologies.

Perfectly reasonable and in reply to the additional comment on post #9, I believe I started the first video by stating the object of the series thoe I may be wrong ( I deplore watching my own content back ! ).
But either way fair criticism is something that I do look for and i'do like to say as of episode 1 to 29 I have learned a great deal from my own experience and the great people on YouTube and this fine forum

Kind of you to say Dan but I appreciate criticism as it helps me to improve, I did expect to rankle a great many feathers by recording and uploading my first hand learning experiences but without adversity there is no challenge and without the challenge of learning one of the most complex wargames out there !, well how could I take any pride in showing that even with no prior experience this beautiful game can be enjoyed by new players

( Apologies ifor garbled - I write this from behind my bar on a busy Monday ! )

I will be watching more in the future and look forward to your improvement. I have watched a couple more. If you have questions you know you may ask on this site, there are many here that will gladly help. What I used to do was hand write questions and see if I could find the answer on the boards or just answer it myself by experimenting or through experience. If no joy I'd come no here and ask. Always got quick and thorough responses.
