Neverending Fire

Post by UP844 »

I was playing the next-to-last turn of "A Grim Reminder" when a Russian infantry stack fired on a CE Panther: the LMG kept its ROF, but after a dozen times it fired, I noticed the game entered in a loop, endlessly performing the fire routine.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a screenshot before attempting to save (and causing a game crash).

Unlike a normal subsequent fire due to a succesful ROF check, the only lines appearing in the message windows were the IDs of the leader and of the LMG: no "LMG ## keeps its ROF" message ever appeared before another cycle started.

The Panther was on a Level 2 hill and the Russians were on a Level 1 hill (I don't know if this matters).

I understand this report is not much accurate and is not very useful to trace the bug cause: on the other hand, it appears to be a very rare bug (I never saw it happen before).

As a side note, an auto-save feature (every game-turn or every player-turn) would be a nice addition... I never saved the game and now I have to restart it from turn one.

Chasing Germans in the moonlight is no mean sport
