Allied Troop Movements Query

Post by ghostrider293 »

Hi Guys,

I've just started a "1938 Calm Before The Storm" scenario, as the Allies.

Current date in game is July 1938.

Quick couple of questions if I may:

1/ Would it be possible to send US forces to assist in the defence of France as soon as possible, ie before 1941? (I know it's not historically accurate whatsoever - I just like to play "what if" style where possible).

2/ General question which probably applies to all scenarios ... I'm struggling to move a French sub, transitting into the Med via Gibraltar, but am unable. Is there a reason this isn't possible?

Many thanks in advance.

I don't know the scenario itself, but in the default setup the Straits of Gibraltar are a British-owned harbour hex. Unless you're actively allied with the owner of the hex you can't move through it. Am guessing in 1938 France isn't a 100% mobilised member of the Allies?

Yeah that makes perfect sense in hindsight ... France is only 68% mobilised so far (Aug 1938).

That also answers my first question as well, in that the US (being only 4% mobilised so far) wouldn't be able to land troops in France yet. (the fact they can't even build units yet, and nothing is scheduled until 1941 just adds more rain to my planned bonfire)

Oh well - it was good in theory :)

Many thanks for the reply Land.
