just wondering, why a WWII mod for WWI game

Post by gwgardner »

I have the SC2 War in Euripe game, played it maybe 8 or 9 years ago. I never got the WWI game, but will now. I see that there were several World War II scenario mods made for the WWI game system. Can someone tell me why those were made on the WWI system, as opposed to on the SC2:WWII base game system?

Because it showed how robust the game engine was for one thing which also was demonstrated with a fantastic Russian Civil War campaign, along with a very good Franc0-Prussian War mod. These along with quite a few other mods simply means why not one for WW II as well...

Thanks. Now that I've purchased the game I'm amazed at the great number of scenarios, some historical, some whatifs. I can also see that some of the great features of SC3 were first tried out in the Breakthrough expansion for this game. Glad I got this one, I can see many hours of fun ahead.

I've seen about four pages of mods/scenarios at Battlefront; are there any other sites that host mods for the game?

Doesn't seem like you can't add campaigns or i'm doing something wrong. Downloaded a couple from Battlefront and dropped them into the campaign folder and they don't show up in game. If the game is the same except for the Battlefront DRM you would think you could use the Campaign downloads from battlefront. Seems like the game is locked or something, anybody had any success adding campaigns from battlefront?

Place the mod in

C:\Users\[yourname]\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command Classic WWI - Breakthrough\Campaigns

I tried one there, and it worked.
