How do you sort through scenarios?

Post by Luckschaden »

First of all, I love the community scenario pack and am grateful to all the people who made the scenarios.

However, I find it somewhat difficult given the sheer volume of scenarios to decide which ones I want to play.

The scenario descriptions are part of the issue. Some are just a single sentence, some an indepth description, some in the style of military orders, some mention playable sides, some don't, some have to author at the top, some at the bottom, some not at all.

Say I find an author that I like and want to find the other scenarios he did. My only option seems to be to dig through the descriptions one by one.

Would it be perhaps a good idea to include more meta data for the scenario files in addition to difficulty and complexity? For example, author, time of creation, maybe even playable sides, geographical scale (tiny/small/medium/large) and other such things could be good candiates for that, and that would allow players to sort scenarios more accurately.

What do you guys think?

Luckschaden,

Forum member Lunex created this application some time ago. I found it to be an excellent tool.

You can find it here:

When I was new to Command, I sorted the Community scenarios by file size within Windows File Explorer and played the smaller ones first regardless of the historical time frame. I learned a lot quickly with this approach.
