What changes does the Breakthrough version provide?

Post by Energisteron »

Hi

I had the original Battlefront version of SC:The Great War but not the Breakthrough add-on.

What enhancements or changes did the Breakthrough version bring to the game?

I now have this newly released version (Thanks Matrix and all) and currently the only difference I can detect is the one-way transit zone into the Baltic. There may also be a few more decision events, I can't be sure. But, as regards the game mechanics everything seems exactly the same.

So, have I missed something however obvious?

Thanks again for bringing this great veteran of a game back to a new audience. I am already enjoying playing my first pbem as CP.

Hi

There's a review here of Breakthrough which lists some of the improvements it brought over the original base game:

I'll just add that the Breakthrough flagship 1914 Call to Arms campaign did receive considerably more updates over time than the original's. Both are playable, but the Breakthrough version did ultimately receive more TLC from me.

There are also a load more campaigns in the Breakthrough one. [:)]

Thanks for such a prompt and helpful reply, Bill

The Grogheads reference explains all.

Thanks for all the effort you put into this great game.
