Captured supplies and fuel

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Captured supplies and fuel

Post by Simon Edmonds »

Hello. Another question. Under rule 15.14 Captured Supplies and Fuel, it states:

“The retreat or displacement move of any unit may result in the capture of supplies and/or fuel. The captured material will be added as damaged supply or fuel depots to the HQ unit to which the combat unit that caused the retreat or displacement move is attached. A text message will display in the map area whenever enemy material is captured.”

So for example: The 12th Panzer Division under the HQ of LVII Panzer Corps, displaces the 62nd IAB Airbase and captures 2 tons of supply and 12 tons of fuel. (Note: If it matters the 12 Panzer Division is within range of the HQ at time of capture) By the rules as written the LVII Panzer Corps will receive the captured supplies and fuel.

Can someone tell me when and where this is reflected on the HQ’s information screen?

As I remember, immediately and listed in the damaged column.
Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.

Pretty sure this rule has changed in the past year+. Captured supplies and fuel no longer remain with the parent HQ of capturing unit, but are placed into stores at the closest friendly controlled town or city. Captured equipment (AFVs, artillery, etc.) passes back into the production system for reconditioning and distribution to the new equipment pool. The latter process can take a year or before the reconditioned items begin to arrive as replacements at the unit level.

Its one of those little things that you intend to investigate but never get around to it, so if anyone know where the supplies/fuel actually goes would appreciate it..
& how to confirm it!
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

Did a small test. German Inf div overrun a HQ and captured supplies went to the Inf div HQ as damaged.

Moved the HQ further away ie > 5 hexes from Div; Div overran an airbase and captured supplies and fuel went to the HQ as damaged.
