PBEM - like DC: Barbarossa or Advanced Tactics Gold?

PBEM - like DC: Barbarossa or Advanced Tactics Gold?

As title says, is the pbem on the external server like in Barbarossa or do we need to manually send the turns over like in Advanced Tactics? I wasn't able to find any information about this.
