Could be a really fun game

Post by panzerzombie »

Hi,yesterday I bought the game. First of all, its really cheap so no big deal. Matrix server doesnt let me update so perhaps some of the complaints are not up to date anymore.

However it could be a nice casual fun game if would have been a bit more thought out and its controls weren´t so awkward. Some Things are Pretty complicated and Deep and other Things are so damn shallow. Here a few suggestions ( of which I honestly not really expect answer or improvement)

- selection box around Units would be nice, sometimes they are clustered above each other and hard to pick a unit

- marching together after grouping would be nice ( unless you manually ping-pong the Units you cannot prevent faster Units to reach the enemy first and get slaughtered while the slower Units drag their knuckles )

- autoreplacement ( at least a trickle ).

- explanation of the difference between regular and reserve infantry replacements missing ( I have no idea ).

- Units with at least equal number of tank units than infantry are apparantly "motorized", so please have a non-tank icon to show the non-motorized status on map

- overview About your onmap TOE and current strength ( to Judge your strategic balance )

- ability to redesign a unit after you added a battalion ( subtract a unit ) after you add a 4 infantry it can never be motorized ever again

Maybe some Things are possible and I just didnt read the manual good enough but then is not easily

welcome to the forum, when you say it doesn't let you update, did you try in game, or in the members area?

don't have the game, so can't comment on what version is pre loaded once bought, but normally with a pre known game like this, the version downloaded should or normal is the latest version etc?

but will ask and find out to be sure, but as offices are closed for Christmas, it may be until after it's done before i have an answer unless someone else replies beforehand

Thx for the welcome

I tried to update from the ingame launcher

No hurries btw ^^

P.S: after reading some of the steam posts the game allegedly seems to be abandoned

edit: went to the members area to obtain steam keys, hope that solves it

What do you mean? both PD and LD here at Matrix are the very last versions. No update anywhere.

Hi ErissN6

Since the launcher refused to communicate with the matrix server, there was no way to know that. Entering the Steam code into steam solved the update problem. However the game was obviously incomplete ( as I wrote it is allegedly abandoned ). Panzer Doctrine had all the above features which are missing with LD, sadly it is a completely different game ... I liked the abstract setting of LD.
