4 player game?

Post by Nimrod 9th »

Anyone willing to try a 4 person game? Here's my idea …
1) Germany/Italy/Hungry/B/R/ also Spain, Turkey, Sweden if needed
2) Japan
3) Soviets/China
4) US/UK/India/France/invaded minors

- Germany goes first, completes moves, saves turn but does not end turn, email saved game to japan
- Japan opens saved game, completes moves, saves and ends turn, emails to soviets/china
- Soviets/China opens saved game, completes moves, saves, does not end turn, and emails to US/UK
- US/UK opens saved game, completes moves, saves, ends turn, emails to Germany for next turn

Of course it does not matter if Germany or Japan goes first and doesn't matter if US/UK. I've never (so I may be much of an enemy or ally) played this game by email (only played against AI) so not 100% sure the above would work but why wouldn't it? The key is not ending the turn before sending to your ally. I'd like to be Soviets/China.

Any takers?

I would be interested. Note I primarily plan WiE so not very WaW player.
I think the first game would be a test to see if your idea works and how fog of war might work.

Wow. Didn't realize how many typos I had in my original note. Meant I don't think I'll be a very good enemy or ally it being my first game against a human. Also meant it didn't matter if US/UK or Soviet went first. Hopefully the point got across anyway. My GUESS is the only impact to fog of war is your ally will see your units and the units the ally sees. Of course the first few turns would be experimental. We can play a couple turns and once we get a feel for it start over. So, we have two. Need two more.

I'm note sure how this would work. The PBEM++ option sends the files up to a server where they are downloaded. Unless I am mistaken a comm file (Like Empires in Arms uses) is not created.

I think we are talking about doing hot seat and emailing the turn.

Could be. I've never played this game hot seat or pbem. May not matter because no one else is interested in joining us.[&:]

I'd be willing to give it a try, but I am about to be offline for several days. If you've not started by June 15, let me know and I'll give it a shot.

We have 4 players. Amandkm, Nimrop 9th, Armoredlion, and me, nnason.

I emailed the Bill/Hubert to see if the idea will work.

Wonderful! I'm starting a strange work schedule. Some day shifts and some evening shifts (no overnight shifts) with no pattern. I will be checking in daily (sometimes more than once) but timing will not be in any kind of routine/pattern.

All,
We have 4 players. Amandkm, Nimrop 9th, Armoredlion, and me, nnason.

Nimrop 9th since you started this thread you want to propose sides. I haven't played WaW.

We need to trade emails. I'll send a private email so you all can have my direct email.

I'd like to be Russia/China. I'd say first come first serve ...
? Germany/Italy/minor axis allies
? US/Britain/France/India/minor allied allies
? Japan

Nnason, if you haven't played before, Japan might be a good start for you. It has a little of everything: ground war, naval, amph assult, air, sub, anti sub. Alot of stuff but in a smaller package than Germany and Brit. The US/Brit and Ger/It will have lots to track and manage.

There is a major update to the game now available with the ability to play a much improved multiplayer match via the hotseat mode. More details in this post:

Doug, are you looking for a four-player game? If so, I'm willing, but the game in current form won't be a fair contest, inasmuch as significant start of turn DE's that the allies need to compete (Such as deploying the BEF) do not occur.

It is fine to play to get experience in the mechanics of 4-player play, but warning you not to expect a fair fight.

If Doug is, and there are others interested in a 4-player game, let me know

Even though I'm already in a 4 person game, I'm willing to add another [:)]. I'm willing to play anything EXCEPT Germany.
