Setting :

For information, here is the difficulty I chose to test Soviet Dawn Beta Test Ausf. E (Difficulty = Normal + Weather + Fog of war + Supply, the same as for Soviet Dawn Beta Test Ausf. A, B, C & D):

Regards,
I unfortunately lost the T-34 war machine (2) in Leningrad 1944 scenario.
He was in a forward position without support and fell into an ambush against at least 3 German units...

I will now take great care of the other T-34 war machine (1).

The scenario does not show the number of turns remaining (Turn .../...).

Turns comparision = greater than and No Actions(Scenario End) in the Event Timeout :

It would seem logical to put the Orders first before the conditions of victory:

Warzaw 1945

Soviet bombers should not be deployed directly above the airport, they are each time immediately in contact with the German fighters :

Berlin

The scenario does not show the correct number of turns remaining: Turn .../16 and not Turn .../15 (Turns comparision should be greater than in the Editor).

Prague 1945

2 comments in the player’s objectives:

- error in Normal Victory text: brilliant victory -> normal victory

- the time conditions are in the middle of the text. In this scenario, it is important to go fast and the time conditions could be more visible by placing them at the end of the text ?

Hi terminator,

Speaking of war machines, the Soviet campaign is long enough so after 6 or so missions you may even get a unit with 5 stars.

In Panzer General II tanks were used for finishing enemy units that are almost defeated - something similar can be done here.
And of course a war machine is a part of a team - it can be supported with other tanks, artillery, air etc. It also needs good battlefield intelligence. An unsupported unit against an unknown enemy is likely to get killed.
The art of war is simple and esay to understand but fighting a war is hard.

From the German experience - a tank division is a part of a larger formation like a tank army (equivalent of a German panzer group/army.)

A Soviet war machine could be a T-34 and upgraded to IS-2 as soon it becomes available. It would be supported by self-propelled guns, artillery and an infantry unit for taking the cities.

Strong air support is also important, it provides battlefield intelligence and helps to avoid nasty surprises. A recon battalion is useful for knowing who is ahead, helping to avoid situations when a tank division may get ambushed.

Air support - the best fighter you have by then, some general bombers and a couple of specialised antitank planes (Il 2).

The Soviets also formed mixed mechanized and cavalry forces and, unlike Germans, they had more than one cavalry division.

IS-2 is cheaper than the T-34-85 :
