In this walk through you manouvre a BAOR Bde counterattack into the Flank of the 48 Guards Tank Regt moving west along the A4 Autobahn.
Ivan is unaware of your 22nd Armd Bde moving to contact.. Perfect surprise'

Background Briefing:
1/ Lead elements of the 22nd Armoured Brigade - a Battlegroup consisting of 2 Mech Inf. Co's an Armoured Sqd, accompanied by their Recce and Mortars are already deployed.
Looking at the map I've blown several Bridges. I have a Company of Scots Guards with their Milans and Mortars Dug in around Greene, overwatching the blown Bridges and A4 Autobahn - N238 interchange. This Company will be purely Defensive, a blocking force to the VP behind them. I have a Sqd of Royal Engineers that will supplement them.

In the centre is a Scimitar Troop on watch - no shooting - I can't defend everything. A risk I'll take as there are no VP's around the area to defend or take.

I have cross-attached a Company of Scots Guards to the Bn with the Squadron (Company) of the QOH (Queens own Hussars) along with a Mortar Plt and Lynxs for support.

Further south, the A4 Autobahn runs past Dorfmark and over bridges, before running through to the southern VP of Langenselbold.

Dorfmark and the bridges will be an excellent choke point against any attempt to advance towards Langenselbold further south.
The off map Artillery first Fire missions will be to lay FASCAM mines to the bridges, then laydown Smoke on top.
The Lynx Flights will cover the southern exiits - the perfect mousetrap.

Scots Guards slip into Dorfmark, QOH - Challengers, pour fire into the T80s trapped in the mines. North, the Milan team has its work cut out under the cover of Company Mortar smoke.

Comment: NATO Artillery is not as plentiful as PACT but it's usually of heavier Calibre and targeting is more flexible - that is, if you target a unit in a hex and it moves to an adjacent one still under observation, it will redirect fire onto it. Observed FASCAM and minefields targeted with smoke and HE are a great game changer or (force multiplier - they can wreak havoc if Ivan runs into them.

This Squadron of Challengers will go south to support the on going firefight

The Lynxs bomb up (resupply after shattering the Mot.Rifle Co. at Dorfmark.

Scots Guards in the north start to inflict damage on what appears to be an advancing Tank BN.

Down at Dorfmark, it appears that the T80 Tank Bn. has been wiped out. the 2nd Sqd QOH makes it way south.
Time for a brew and Johnny Walker..
North, the other T80 Bn is pouring into the valley of death, to be met with HE and the arrival Lynxs..

A sweep through Langenselbold, the Challengers and accompanying Recce Troop move up and through towards Bollensen. This is search and destroy,
hopefully against Ivan's RAG.
North, Ivan is still stuck on the riverbanks attempting river crossings.

Ivan has opened the door across the river and poured through, Lynxs continue to do stirling work, but my Engineers have taken off!! - recalled to some where else.. bastards..
The VP is open.. Ivan won't let this go.

Ivan sits smugly on the Northern VP..

The LYNXs go back for another resupply, The Scots Guards are dying on their feet. No retreat, if I move them under enemy observation they will get hammered.
Damn those f@cking Engineers! wept Townsend..

I feel Ivan is on his last legs, and surely the rest of 22nd Brigade will arrive..
