Post by Daniele »

Excellent news from the front!

Save the date as WarPlan, one of the most innovative turn-based wargame in the market, is coming to Steam, and it will be out on March 26th!

Kudos to the developer for this important milestone!

If you have already bought the game on Matrix, you will be able to redeem a Steam key when WarPlan will be out on that platform.

will patches be uploaded to steam using their "beta" facility, or will you have to have the matrix version to install hotfixes/betas that are posted here on the forum?

To understand sPzAbt653 and the context, the changes made to TOAW IV to switch to Steam constraints (file structure) did not have any beneficial effects.

Hope you are ready...

Can you answer my question about beta patches on steam??

i.e. will patches be uploaded to steam using their "beta" facility, or will you have to have the matrix version to install hotfixes/betas that are posted here on the forum?

Oh I wasn't sure if this was sarcasm or not.

Official updates will be in Matrix and in Steam that I know of. This is my 1st Steam game.

For the open beta version I have to see how steam does that. I'll try to make it through there best I can. There will be 2 versions BTW. A beta for Matrix version, a beta for Steam version. Reason is the different ways to handle file protection.
I'll keep people informed.

Thanks for the reply. No sarcasm from me.

I was just interested in the update process for steam buyers particularly as you are very active in fixing bugs and i am aware that some other Matrix games (for whatever reason) don't set up betas and/or hot-fixes on steam (and the delay is really annoying).

Using steam also allows players to very easily (just a few clicks) roll back the game to an earlier version, this can be very useful if you are in the middle of a game and the patch breaks saves.
