Just bought this game. Need aesthetic help!

Oh boy. I might have bit more than I can chew but it looks intriguing.

However, a couple big problems. They may sound trivial but it is really affecting my wanting to play.

The map is SO zoomed in. I go into China and I see a part of it. Pearl Harbor only has the H. Islands. When I saw Streamers do it the map was nicely zoomed out. I found the Chemmaps and loaded one that looks good but it is much more zoomed in than what I see on Twitch when streamers play.

Combine this with scroll speed. I scroll speed and it goes 1 hex, wait 1-2 sec then another. Very jerky. I found the option for scroll speed and set it as fast as possible and still the same. Is it just my computer? Never had a 'not good enough computer' problem before on this.

I know, sounds trivial but I do think it will stop me from playing the game. It is just so irritating.

Please help!

This belongs to the Tech Support subforum

Zoom most certainly means that your game is launched with a very low resolution. You can change it by setting appropriate command line switches. Look into WhatsNew.pdf in your game folder for all the switches. Some can also help with the scrolling (e.g. try –dd_sw and -cpu3 -SingleCpuOrders)

Yes, the Tech Support Forum. Where you would have found this thread as far as installing the game and getting it to run the way that you want it to run.

Ok downloaded Seabees and extracted it and 'ran' it

Doesn't seem to do anything.

I need even more baby instructions that what is given in your link. I run the program, then exit. Nothing. I try running Seabees and keep it running while loading the game. Nothing.

My computer skills, while not nothing...I had no problem using Chemkids map and getting it going...but beyond that bare minimum, I know nothing.

What am I doing wrong with the Seabee program?

Edit. I think I figured it out. I had to remove 'Beta2' from the link in the shortcut as it wasn't finding the program. I did a quick load and it is doing something. The scrolling, for sure, has been fixed and the resolution seems to be better.

Game switches are listed in Readme file in game directory. There it will tell you exactly what switches are and how to use them. Just remember to point desktop shortcut at exe file not autorun.
