Laggi in the Game

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Unfortunately the game seems to have a memory leak of some sort (I'm not a programmer so don't ask for any more technical information [&:]!). If you save, exit and reload the program every 45mins or so you'll avoid the slowdowns.

I had similar problem when playing with the Steam-installed version. No such problem encountered if I install using the version download directly from Matrix (My game was purchased from Matrix direct, not through Steam).

Please state the affected game version(s).
Matrix and Steam variant are the same software pending the same game version is in use. Might be a conflict with the Steam overlay that should only be active for the Steam variant though

In steam options, check the show FPS button and a green number will show top left. Play the game through steam in offline mode, does the green number drop to a very low number when you experience the lag?.Is it the same kind of drop if you play through steam as normal?, as Dennis said it may be the steam overlay. You can also verify the game files through steam, it does no harm, and checks your on board files are the same as the steam build, if it overights some files it may solve your lag problem.

I don’t see lag in on line or offline play through steam, so can’t help more.

Of course Russian lagg 3 was faster......maybe you have a lagg 1...........

ps, if it is steam overwriting files, don’t forget you will have to check file integrity each time you log on to steam, to get over it.
