Corporate Taxes

Post by deoved »

My corporate tax level is 40% and Corporation paid 4458. But I do not get those credits. Did I misunderstand anything or maybe those credits go directly to the private economy?

Those numbers seem to be *wildly* off-base, in my case by ~2 orders of magnitude, compared to those seen in zone's Corporate Control tab and Population tab's Private Eco. popup (those seem to check out between themselves, give or take 1 credit ?)

Maybe it's across all zones and summed since the start of the game ? (But the preceding "Start of the turn tax level" is NOT a cumulative average ?)

Its strange that Cash Flow tab dont even show income from corporate tax(and never show). I think Corporation Story module dont work as intended. Any ideas maybe?

What Cash Flow tab ?

The Corporation "tax" seems to be levied not by your government, but by the private sector on the "credits squeezed out of Private Economy", reducing those.

So it's weird that raising that "tax" comes with +Government and -Commerce (and vice-versa), shouldn't it be the other way around ? OTOH it does probably reduce the power of the Corporation, so it could go either way ?

It is market invervention. To avoid a monopoly/overly strong competitor.

Unbounded Commerce inherently would do nothing about monopolies.
Government does.

I don't really get it. I set corporate tax to 40% (they pissed off), but my budget doesn't get this cash. Where this cash go? If this money goes to the private economy - it's absurd...

Hmm, weird, I looked at it a 2nd time, and now I don't see this happening any more ?

Also, I have Income - Expenses ≠ Change in Private Funds, but between the Corporation and the Syndic collections, it's hard to figure out what is going on...

Corporate tax is levied by the government included in the sales tax.

The corporate tax goes directly to you, it is included in the sales tax. You can see this in the cashflow overview if you set the sales tax to 0%.
The overview tab shows the total corporate tax paid, you can see the real time corporate tax in the corporate control tab under the zone tab.
