The cars look like sprites to me. Do I see wrong?
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Empire Wargame of Century was first made for PDP-10 computers. I make a guess that version is ASCII (or at least text only). It's available in here:

Empire is very based game and father, but it's more father to games like Civilization, Master of Magic, Warlords, Shadow EMPIRE etc. This game don't try simulate real war. I found game called "Curse of War", i think it's more closer to wargames, but it looks like there are simply no ASCII true wargames.

https://manyone88.itch.io/nuclear-war-t ... -turnbased

Nuclear War is a text based Wargame, its turn based and has an enormous map for conquest, you seek to control more and more territory each turn with army airforce and Navy, but if the enemy is getting to strong you have nuclear options available at some end of turns.

this is a very complex game, and is data driven, you spend time looking at territory info and searching for new areas to build armies. the combat is done in rounds and the info is shown as a report.

Yes, for me too. It enters the realm of really wet PC gaming dreams. I want to visit Uncle Albert's.

I love the driving mechanic in that game. Love to see a Z axis added and be used for a WW1 air combat game
