Enemy Ships Stacking With Friendly -- and
Just finished another go at the 41-Campaign. This time as the Japanese vs. the AI. Two items, although the second map related item seems relatively minor.
1) On several occasions Allied ships managed to get intermingled with stack of Japanese Ships. After which I was able to move the Allied ships along with a stack of Japanese ships; Or, I could just move them without Japanese ships to a hex of my choosing.
On the first occasion an American Corps in transport mode somehow became intermingled with a stack of Japanese Ships. I found I could move the transport independently or leave it with the stack Japanese ships. I eventually moved it next to several Japanese tactical bombers and sank it.
The second occasion a US Cruiser and DD unit became intermingled with a large stack of Japanese Ships harbored in Manilla. I moved all but a single Japanese DD out of the harbor to do other activates. The next turn I found that the AI had moved the US Cruiser and US DD several hexes outside Manilla Harbor into an open sea hex. But the AI had also taken the Japanese DD unit I had left in Manilla with it. I ended up bombing the stack with Japanese land based air. Fortunately my air attacks sank only the US Cruiser and US DD group and left the Japanese DD alive. I have saved files for the each of the turns this occurred if for whatever reason you need to look at these.
2) The other item is relatively minor. I noticed a map discontinuity in Siberia -- around Shilka. The river between 55,97 and 56,98 has a gap along one of the hexsides. I assume this is a map error. I could not determine whether or not the river combat effect occurs across the hexside of interest.

Did you walk into the hex or take it by paradrop?

I don't understand. The game is still telling me I am running the most current version. You mean you just fixed it and the fix will appear in the next patch?
No -- I didnt walk into the hex or para drop into it. More like I finished my turn and the AI moved ships into the same hex in its turn.
Anywhoo...I just started another 41-Campaign today. Playing as Japan again. The ship stacking issue occurred again within a couple turns of starting the campaign. I was blockading Suva Port -- Fiji -- with Several Japanese CVs. The next turn I noticed there were four or five US DDs stacked with the Japanese Blockade stack. I was able to move the US DDs with my stack of ships.

It seems to have occurred several times as a result of port blockade where the AI is trying to counter my blockade. But the AI's counter blockade can somehow move right into a hex full of enemy ships.
However, it also occurred inexplicably with an enemy transport ship. I'm not sure the exact circumstances in this case. I was blockading an island hex -- but also invading the same island hex. I noticed the US Infantry Corps in transports at the bottom of a large stack of Japanese Ships. It may have been there for a turn or two before I noticed it so I dont know that I can recall the specifics of how it ended up in a Japanese stack.
Just tried the "check for updates" button again on the opening menu. The game says I'm running the most current version -- V1.00.04

Unfortunately the stacking problem still seems to be around, I just experienced it in a 1941 game (limited fleet size, most recent patch).

I moved an Allied fleet with six units (2 CV, 2 CA, 2 DD) into a hex, then ended my turn. The Japanese AI moved a submarine stack (4 SS) into the same hex, and in the next turn all ships were in the same fleet. I was even able to select the Japanese subs and move them separately. Once I had moved them they became an enemy unit again, and I could no longer access them.

that is an A.I. glitch. I will check it out. Just move out the sub.
This is one of the reasons I am moving to sea zones very likely.

I really hope that you don't do that. It will drastically change how both WP games are played, especially WPP. I like that fleets exist in specific hexes and not in an "electron cloud" at all points in a zone.ORIGINAL: AlvaroSousa

Not in the way you think it will. Some people think it is LARGE sea zones. no it will be small ones if I do it. Then you can place your fleets on missions.
I still haven't decided yet. I want to work in interception or a naval phase. Sea zones make that easier.
Right now it is 50/50 split on leave as the same or sea zones in the poll I took.
As an example in World in Flames the Baltic is 1 sea zone. In WP2 it might have 8 coastal sea zones and 2 deep sea zones.

I like the idea of small zones, as you describe them, and I especially like the idea of missions (a la HOI4).
