The Fight for Stalingrad itself

Post by governato »

One of the interesting features of "Stalingrad" is having scenarios at two scales..1.5m/hex for the campaign in the Don area and then 0.3m/hex (500m) for the fight in the city itself. It really gives perspective on how claustrophobic the battle became in its later stages.

Here is an article on the fight within the city in Summer/Fall 1942

Here is a sneak peak from my Beta testing. The Germans doing a bit better than historical in late Fall. The city scenarios really highlight air/arty cooperation with infantry. There are a lot of troops but infantry is mostly at rgt/division scale for the Soviets so the game remains manageable. These scenarios are also fast to play.

Nice graphics too!!

In the game you mentioned you're playing, is it against another human or the AI??

I was playing vs the AI! It's pretty 'smart' and gives a good challenge. But human vs human games through the Matrix system work well and are super fun too.

Yeah, let me know if you have any questions about the game and within the limits of my Beta tester NDA I (or Brian, the designer), will try to answer.
