Why is the latest version of the game a beta?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Why is the latest version of the game a beta?

Hi, since the game is no longer updated, why is the latest version a beta? Why didn't they release version 1.12.06 as official so you don't have to download the game in beta?

Its undecided if this latest beta is perfect.

I rate it good to just above good. Better than the prior...

But we now have major lack of play.

Plus some of us are, atm, unable to log in ( but that is an aside issue)

I don't think the latest version can be called perfect, the fuel bug https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... ?p=4813456
and the "F2 bug" https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 7&t=365102 (with the latter also working in version 1.11.03) are game breaking and were reported over a year ago.
If the game has been abandoned before reaching a playable state that's fine, but it would be right to at least warn those who want to buy it.
