U2R: The heros return home

Post by kao16 »

Ok, so I finally completed Utah to the Rhine. The question is how well (or badly) I did compared to you others out there.

18 battles, 3 marginal and 7 decisive victories, for a total of 37 pts (marginal victory)

High scorers:
Sgt Stevenson (The Runt) M4a3(76) with 58 kills
2Lt Harper (Crew Cutter) M19 Duster with 56 kills

Of 36 units 13 achieved 20+ kills with one of the more significant being 2Lt Nicholson and his M9 Bazooka team with 23 kills (considering how quickly my 2 man scout units kept dying, for a Bazooka team to last the whole campaign while accumulating a significant number of kills (8 in one battle) is no mean achievement).

Impressive, kao! Nicely done. It is a long haul to the Rhine and beyond. The fact that your tanks and infantry (kudos to the bazooka team!) is certainly a testimony to your leadership and guidance through that maze of battles.

Thanks for the update!...Wild Bill

I finsihed the campaign a week ago or so and I must say that the ending battles were truly enerving. After the ugly 5 points battle my forces where shattered and I only managed draws from that onward. I was quite surprised however that my 16000p to 8000p german points at the seig river battle wouldn't reward me with at least a marginal victory. All in all I played 17 battles, 6 decisive, 6 marginal and the rest of course draws, which totalled 36 points.

Not much in the way of "heroes" though. None of my tanks were very sucessfull (maybe due to them only being armed with 75's), but my engineers did a better job. Best of all; 2Lt Melvin with a total of 36 kills.

You guys just wait...
When I realized that the leaders were Immortal I ceased all hostilities, and decided to wait for the new patch. I suspect I'm gonna hit the beaches later tonight...

Combat Team Hortlund is embarking right now...get ready for some action men. I suspect those Germans wont just lay down their arms and surrender.

The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to a close.
In its place we are entering a period of consequences..
