Cape Hatteras Event

Had a CSA ship in Fort Hatteras Port. Union invasion event fires and I lose the ship? How about just moving the ship out to sea?

That's correct. The Confederate ship is assumed to be destroyed by the Union invasion fleet (which historically included four frigates, more than enough to defeat the CS gunboat that you had placed there).
