Need help in creating scenario

Post by mrdozer2379 »

I am trying to make a match were USSR and USA or any other 2 combination that are the only major powers that have to try and take over the world while competing with each other.

My problem is I have no idea how to get rid of the scripts for the base game or how to go about getting the standard game setup but with everyone being neutral besides the 2 major powers that are fighting without causing crashes.

Any help or advice on getting a base map template setup would be appreciated.

First, open up the campaign you want to change in the Editor, then press File -> Save As and rename it to something else.

Then you will need to open up all its Event files.

These should now be stored here:

C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War In Europe\Campaigns

Most of the rest that you'll need to do can be done in the Editor by going to:

1) Campaign -> Edit Major Country IDs

Here you can change which countries are Majors. However, you may need to modify your initial idea as you will need to have a minimum of 1 Major per side.

2) Campaign -> Edit Country Data and change the mobilized status and Parent of each Major to whoever you now want them to be a Minor of.

Then save. You will be prompted to Update the scripts, to do this press No on the message that comes up, and then Update* on the screen that appears.

You will have to update both the Events and AI scripts, and will be prompted for one then the other when you press save.

I think I've covered it all, have fun and enjoy making your first mod for this game! :)

I was wondering about getting further help please.

I was able to remove all the scripts from my scenario except the naval move ones as they are needed for moving from one side to the other. In my current game I decided to attack poland but am getting the error failed national morale to national morale buffer which seems from my original try the main biggest issue which I assumed was rooted in script problems.

Now that I have removed all except the ones mentioned above I am unsure what to do. I left the main countries as they were as I wanted them to be able to still defend themselves. Just when I turned neutral in my first attempt they lost everything. So was wondering if you or anyone had more insight.

Attached is a link to my scenario.

If you're playing the campaign with Research turned off, you'll need to via the Options screen also hide the National Morale bars at the top of the screen, as there's currently a bug with them that only causes the game to crash when Research is turned off.

Hopefully that's it?

Research is turned on but I will try turning the morale bars off to see if it helps thankyou.

Looks like turning off the morale bars worked. Now onto taking over poland.
