Version ID Help needed

Post by scout1 »

Struggling a tad bit trying to confirm game version ...

Tried the Help About and merely get a scrolling screen of credits (which I can pause/stop). Even though manual says it's listed there, I didn't see it .... Is it there ?

Patch notes in my folder indicates v4.0.1.4 .... Now is this actually 4.0.1.40 ? I've seen other games drop the last digit ...

I ask as for the initial pop up screen has a ckeck for updates and say's there is an update .... I launch that and it indicates that I am not at the minimum v4.0.1.20 required to upgrade ... I've downloaded the setup file for v4.0.1.20 (which btw isn't listed in the patch notes (thought there is *.23)), and it would install as there was already a TOAW IV installed.

Dates on the various versions also muddies the water .... *.20 on the My Page lists a 2017 date, the pdf patch notes in my current directory has a 2018 date and the update to *.40 on My Page lists a 2019 date.

So in a nutshell, do I already have the latest version or not ? If not, what's my path to upgrade ?

You should also be able to navigate to My Page here at matrix Games and view what you have DL'd. I believe you should have gotten the Installer [version 4.1.0.20, ], then the version 4.1.0.40 to install over the version 4.1.0.20.

No version listed I can find ..... I've downloaded (recently) both *.20 and *.40 .... *.20 isn't an update, complete install .... *.40 is an update .... based on patchnotes file ... I have *.4 ..... the dates are all mixed up though

*.4 (version I think I have) is date 2018
*20 (full install) is dated 2017
*.40 update is date 2019 ....

Confused I am

You can also 'mouse over' the exe in Program Files to see the version #.

Let me verify that ...

... ok, I don't actually have version 4.1.0.40, so that explains why what I'm telling you is not what you are seeing. So sorry about that.

v4.1.0.4 when mouse over Opart4.exe ....

So do I need to unistall TOAW then install *.20 ... then update to v*.40 ?

So is the only route to *.40 is to unistall completely, fresh setup install of *.20 then upgrade to *.40 ?

That's what I did, but I may have made a backup copy of my existing install directory just to make sure nothing got lost.

Cheers
