Automatic repair assignment

So far I've played about 30 turns but I've never seen this happen - I always end up spending my CP assigning a construction crew - am I doing something wrong? There are plenty of free construction units in OKH and the Army groups...

I have to send out construction engineers at times as well.

The AI tends to send out a few on its own, but for me, it never completely covers all of my construction needs.

For example, covering all my airbase construction. This can be annoying as there is not going to be any airbase construction without a construction engineer assigned. :(

Early on, you can greatly "encourage" the AI to dispatch construction engineers by placing a HQ with a construction engineer assigned on the specific hex.

For me, it is not too hard as I usually have one assigned to each corps, with the rest back in OKH.

But I am quite used to having to spend a few APs here and there to cover my high priority construction needs.

The rail construction units can only operate within the command radius of the HQ they are attached to. However, I often find that the priorities of said HQ are often weird and it sends the construction unit to a rail hex that I never would if I had had the choice/control over it. Like away from the front (or right up to it next to enemy units!), to unoccupied air bases, failing to identify that one broken rail hex that would complete a more vital stretch of railroad. And so on. Would be nice to be able to control all rail construction units and send them to where you want them.
