Unfortunate Son's Counter Mod

Post by Unfortunate Son »

FINALLY!! I have completed a full set of counters for SC-WiE!!! 😎

I have sent my final files to the developer's!!!

I want to give a special thanks at this time my good friend Mike "Old Crow Balthazor" whom I feel the SC community owes a debt of gratitude for all his contributions to the SC game community.

If I hadn't reached out to Mike back in May /June 2021 and he hadn't encouraged me to show a few other players like Tanaka and post my counters on the forums they may have never seen the light of day.
Mike has been constructive with ideas and suggestions during the whole process in creating the set of counters. He has helped many other modders from SC-WW1 MDsmall's "Icarus Mod", Balkan Variations Mod, Jazon's "Polish-Soviet War-Battle 0f Warsaw 1920 mod", SC-WaW Ellesar2 "War in the Pacific mod" "Strategic Command Naval Test Mod", SC-WiE Lothos "TRP-Total Realism Project for War in Europe". Beta testing SC-American Civil War, 1904 Imperial Sunrise, 1879 Ghosts in the Pacific etc...
Plus all the Videos he creates for his YT channel.

Hello SC WWII War in Europe.

For those of you who have't seen or heard of my counter mod project that I have been working on for the past 2 years on and off. I am getting close to having a full set for SC WWII War In Europe to completion. I am currently working on the US counters which is the last major nation to complete the set. Once they are complete I will work on the the Chinese and Japanese counters for a complete set for SC WWII World at War.

My good friend Old Crow Balthazar has been consulting and advising me and keeping me focused at the task at hand to complete this project without him this project may not have seen the light of day.

Here are some images and screen shots of the counters:

Looking very nice!
If you are interested I'd suggest some minor color tweaks on the Luftwaffe birds.

Thanks Simulacra53, I may go back and tweak some things but I have moved on to finish a complete set.

Hi,
They all look Great!!! Especially those marines, they picture is very dynamic!
I can't wait for your counters, right now I am playing SC WWII in Europe, and my experience would be far better with those beautiful counters! Myself I don't enjoy NATO, I guess because my upbringing with tabletop counter games culture we had in Poland, where we used counters similar to yours. Keep on good work!

These look great Ray. By the way...YOU did all the hard work. I just stepped in to provide the occasional 'Kick in the @$$. 🤠

Will be great if the Fury Devs can manipulate your files so they can be dropped into the mod folder as a graphic mod, instead of messing with the bitmaps or creating a game-mod with the counters.
That way folks can easily install, plus have the option to use the 3d sprites or NATO in conjunction with this most excellent counter mod. Could be useful in MP games, where one player wants to use your counters, but the opponent wants to use another.
As a graphic mod..the PBEM++ server will allow the match to proceed.

Cheers!

These are by far the most eye pleasing counters (IMO) of any SC edition I have seen in my ....what 22 years of playing Hubert's creation.

Makes me want to load up WiE on my new alienware since I only play WaW presently.

Keep up the good work Unfortunate Son (hoping for WaW counters), and thanks for the assistance Mike(OCB).
