Fuel supply overland

Post by irfanahmed1979 »

In a modded campaign, I captured Lang Son in Vietnam with a Chinese Corps. Now I'm sitting with ample supplies but the base only has 77 fuel. Any suggestions?

Fuel is only needed for ships and Heavy Industry. Motor fuel for vehicles comes from supply. Ignore the fuel there, it will flow to where it can be used when you capture a path for it.

What if I want to eventually use this as a small airfield with a fighter squadron or 2?

Aircraft fuel also comes from supply. On carriers supply is captured in the sortie count.

One more thing: On the base screen, what are the stockpile supply and fuel options for?

Those should be used very sparingly. They basically forbid supplies or fuel being sent to another base (but not troops in the field). This is useful when you need to temporarily raise the supply level at the base (use the supply + toggle to increase the draw [demand] level). For example if you captured a base with industry and wanted to repair some of it, you would need to increase supply to more than 10,000 before you could spend 1000 supply to repair one point of industry damage.

Supply flows automatically to where it is needed so stockpiling might interrupt a supply path to exposed troops, making them unable to defend themselves.

Search for Alfred's Logistics 101 for a detailed explanation of how supply flow works.
