Game Losing Bug??

Post by archmache »

Australia surrendered and then all of the Australian troops disappeared off the map. They were not on the Australian continent?? I thought Commonwealth troops did not surrender. Absolutely wrecked that was about 12 units gone.

Was this new? DEI did the same in my game. Normally the ships stay allied?

Lost the game cause of this, slightly annoyed.

EDIT: It appears one Australian Corps in Africa, stayed. The Australian troops were in enemy occupied Turkey (joined via axisi diplo). Is it that only troops in countries that you own stay allied? Trying to get more clarity on this.

This is correct, as any Australian units within Australia will automatically surrender when their country does. The reason being that if a government surrenders then all troops within its jurisdiction, i.e. home territory, would be ordered to lay down their arms.

However, Australian units outside their home country will fight on, providing they are in the territory of another friendly allied country.

They won't fight on if they are on the territory of an enemy power, because it could lead to very odd situations where (say) Australian units are invading Japan, Australia surrenders, but Australian units carry on fighting in Japan.
