Disobeying Orders

Post by PeterStep »

Playing Canadian in the High Sticking Scenario, I place units in their deployment areas and give them their initial movement orders. As soon as I start the scenario several change from 'Move Hasty; to 'Screen' within the first two minutes.
I have highlighted the behaviour of one unit in the screenshots, save files enclosed.

Bug or underlying reason?

This appears to me as a bug, I've created a ticket for it. Thank you for the save file. (The bug reproduces from this save file, so very helpful.)

A couple of questions.
1). Was a formation move used on these or other units?
2). Did you play a game before this one?
3). Did you make any SOP adjustments or waypoint adjustments?

Thanks. Trying to narrow down the variables.

I used a formation move for A Coy - set move hasty to final destination then adjusted last leg for each unit to move deliberate and altered final waypoint to the position I wanted. All A Coy units changed to 'screen' on game start, however I did the same for A Sqn and as you can see in the screenshot two sub units moved and two changed to screen.

Used the same procedure for the B Coy units to the north and they all moved as ordered on start.

At first I thought it might be overstacking but far too few units involved and that only causes a delay.

Had played The Neckar Line before and not closed FCSS between scenarios.

SOP changes were to stay and fight for inf and screen and fight for tanks if I recall.

Peter, do you remember what you did in the UnitDashboard to modify the orders?

William,

For each unit that was part of the formation move it was a right click on the last leg of the move and select move deliberate, then apply What are you thinking?
