Where are my carriers?

Rule the Waves III is a simulation of naval ship design and construction, fleet management and naval warfare from 1890 to 1970. and will place you in the role of 'Grand Admiral' of a navy from the time when steam and iron dominated warship design up to the missile age.

Where are my carriers?

Post by Tacitusz »

Hi, i get annoyed frequently when i get the battle start messages here shown for example i ask myself why wont my carriers fight?

90% of the Battles the Enemys start with more Ships then i - besides me having more Carriers or BBs stationed in Northern Europe.... is the Matchmaking Random?
i even got above Average Division or Brilliant Commanders but they decide not to fight/Support my Battleships?!

Can this be changed so all units in a Region can fight?

Usually it only comes to 2: Have you put your carrier (and all your ships actually) in division (and set it's role)? If not, then that's your problem.
If you have already, then it's just a combination of bad luck of RNG with the battle generator...

Do you have Good or better Admirals commanding the Sea Zone?

What level of Intelligence have you achieved?

Both of these also have an effect on matching or exceeding enemy forces.

What is the size of ships compared to the enemy. If you have larger ships, battle generator compensate that by numbers.

What role should I put my carrier division in? The manual talks about patrol mode but that is not a option with a carrier division. I have never managed to see a carrier in a battle. Whisky Tango Foxtrot?

And why are there battles when my entire force is airships? What is the idea of a battle with airships that are not carrying any weapons?
